From phones to cars, everything else you own is getting smart, why not your clothes? Curious in what ways clothes can be “smart”? Scientists recently announced they’ve developed clothes that can hear. But what if a fabric that hears your heartbeat is only the start? Curiosity-Based Thinking and The Book of What If…?

What if Your Clothes Were Smarter?

What if our clothes were made out of new materials that worked with our lives better? Researchers are making clothing out of bacteria, allowing us to create more customized clothing with less waste (and possibly even have your clothes deliver nutrients to your skin!). What if you didn’t have to try on different colors and sizes? What if your clothes showed you where Wi-Fi was or knew your heart rate? What if your clothes hardened when you bumped into something, which would protect you from accidents or punches? What if your clothes got smarter?
